Demographics
The study found that 65.7 percent of abused seniors are women, and 77.1 percent of victims were found to be Caucasian. The majority of cases of elder abuse occur in private residences at 89.3 percent.

Although most abuse is perpetrated by non-seniors, 24.9 percent of abuse is done by people 60 years of age or older.
